I finally did it...

So the other night I finally broke down and after almost 2 years I wrote my surgeons review for OH.

and

here it is....with some minor edits of names and places:



I don't even know where to start in a review of Dr. T and this is probably why it has taken me almost 2 years to write. Simply put Dr. T is an amazing surgeon and Doctor. I feel that if you choose to let him do your WLS you will be in very capable hands.


My first impression of Dr. T was that he is very knowledgeable about WLS and will answer even the silliest of questions without batting an eye. He is very professional and quiet at times. Dr. T gave me this amazing tool which has helped me lose over 200 pounds but I will not lie over the past almost 2 years I have had some little bumps in my journey. I can say I have disagreed with him at times and been mad at the answers he had given me but I always knew that he had my best interest at heart. To me his bedside manner is very straight to the point. He isn't the type of surgeon who is going to stand around and hold your hand. Which to me is a good point because I wanted a capable surgeon who basically was going to be honest and not sugar coat things.

For my surgery Dr. T was assisted by his physician assistant CT. All you need to know about CT is that she rocks! The hospital is in need of a little re-decorating :) but its a nice, clean, organized hospital, with a good nursing staff. If you are lucky you can even get a room with an ocean view! My only real complaint with the hospital would have to be the urgent care. I don't feel as if the urgent care doctors are very knowledgeable about the needs of post-op patients.

The office is always very helpful and responds quickly to any questions or concerns. Nurse B is AMAZING! If you have a question, she has an answer. With all the little bumps in my journey she has been a lifesaver. MF was/is my nutritionist and she is very helpful. She helped me design a food plan to find foods that work for me and my lifestyle.

Simply put if you live in the SD area and are looking for a skilled, knowledgeable surgeon then schedule a consult with Dr. T or attend an orientation meeting that he is presenting at.

On a side note I've always wondered if the surgeons go on here and read what we write about them...because if it was me I'd want to know what people say about me. So Dr. T is you are reading this..Hi and Thank You :)
